The NEPA Workforce Funder Collaborative seeks a senior strategic consultant to serve as the part-time Manager for the Collaborative. This role will help drive this new initiative and support the Collaborative’s strategic growth, funder engagement, and workforce alignment efforts across Northeastern Pennsylvania.

About the NEPA Workforce Funder Collaborative

Set to launch in Fall 2025, the NEPA Workforce Funder Collaborative is a new multi-stakeholder initiative designed to drive sustainable, long-term workforce solutions across the region. Over a year in development, this collaborative brings together diverse partners committed to aligning resources, strategies, and investments for greater impact. Aligned with the NEPA Thrives initiative, the Collaborative brings together a diverse group of private & corporate foundations working together and pooling funds, resources and knowledge. The aim is to be a tool for the philanthropic community to foster high impact solutions to address complex economic mobility issues in the Northeastern Pennsylvania region.

Role: Manager, NEPA Workforce Funder Collaborative

The Manager of the NEPA Workforce Funder Collaborative is a strategic leadership consultant responsible for driving cross-sector coordination, deepening funder engagement, and advancing workforce solutions across Northeastern Pennsylvania. The Manager will serve as the connective tissue between funders, partners, and initiatives that move the needle on regional workforce development.

The Manager will design and manage the Collaborative’s overall strategy, cultivate and steward funder relationships, and connect regional priorities to national workforce trends and funding streams. While the consultant will organize and shape the structure of Collaborative convenings, facilitation will be shared among funder members to elevate collaborative ownership and voice.

This is a neutral, non-voting leadership role requiring both initiative and diplomacy. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of workforce systems, proven fundraising success, and experience building cross-sector partnerships that translate ideas into impact.

Responsabilidades clave

1. Strategic Program & Convening Leadership
  • Organize and facilitate 4 quarterly hybrid meeting agendas for Collaborative convenings including member session goals and speaker engagement
  • Coordinate logistics with SACF supervisor
  • Support funders in leading facilitation to ensure shared ownership
  • Embed learning and strategic alignment across convenings
2. Funder Cultivation & Development
  • Identify and cultivate new funder relationships at the local, regional, and national levels
  • Support funders in aligning their grantmaking with Collaborative goals
  • Develop and submit grant proposals and provide funder updates
  • Steward existing funder relationships and build trust with prospective partners
3. Workforce Systems & Ecosystem Alignment
  • Provide thought leadership on national workforce development systems
  • Share trends, policy shifts, and funding opportunities relevant to NEPA
  • Help local partners align with emerging best practices
4. Administrative & Project Coordination
  • Manage internal communications and documentation
  • Track milestones using tools such as Trello, Slack, or Google Workspace
  • Support vendor coordination and financial tracking as needed
  • Provide ongoing communication and a monthly report to SACF Supervisor
5. Neutral Leadership & Project Coordination
  • Serve as a nonpartisan facilitator to align priorities and manage dynamics
  • Ensure meetings and deliverables reflect equity-centered collaboration
  • Build shared ownership and strategic momentum across sectors

Cualificaciones

  • 7-10+ years in a senior leadership role within workforce development, philanthropy, or economic mobility fields
  • Demonstrated success in fundraising and funder management and cultivation
  • Expertise in national workforce systems and peer learning networks
  • Strong convening design and facilitation skills
  • High comfort level liaising with senior leaders and diverse stakeholders
  • Experience with collaborative project tools (Zoom, Slack, Google Workspace, Trello)

Contract Details

  • Contract Term: 2-Year Contract, Renewable
  • Time Commitment: Approximately 5-10 hours per week
  • Compensation: $40-$80/hour, commensurate with experience
  • Location: Mostly remote with monthly in-person meetings in Northeastern PA

Selection Process

  • Proposals will be reviewed by a selection committee comprised of NEPA Workforce Funder Collaborative members. Finalists may be invited to interview virtually or in person.
  • Selection will be based on qualifications, fundraising capacity, workforce knowledge, and alignment with Collaborative values.
