Heart of Scranton Virtual Fundraiser
The City of Scranton, under the leadership of Mayor Paige Cognetti, is leading a virtual fundraising event addressing food insecurity in partnership with the Scranton Area Community Foundation and United Way of Lackawanna, Wayne & Pike. The Heart of Scranton: A Virtual Fundraiser to Help our Neighbors is taking place from Octubre 29th, 2025 to Diciembre 5th, 2025.
Donors may choose to support any of the following participating organizations: Meals on Wheels of NEPA, Friends of the Poor and Catherine McAuley Center, CHOP Out Hunger, Bread Basket of NEPA, Commission on Economic Opportunity, The Salvation Army, and The Indigo Spoon Foundation — or contribute to the Scranton Area Community Foundation’s general campaign to benefit all seven. Gifts made through SACF’s campaign will be evenly distributed among all participating organizations.
One hundred percent of all donations (with the exception of credit card fees) will go directly to support these nonprofits who are doing mission-critical work to get food on the table in every home in the Scranton area.
Donations may also be made by check, payable to the Scranton Area Community Foundation with “Heart of Scranton” noted in the memo line. Checks can be mailed to:
Scranton Area Community Foundation
612 Jefferson Avenue
Scranton, PA 18510
If no specific participating organization is designated, contributions will be directed to the general fund and evenly distributed among participating organizations.
We are grateful for your support to help address food insecurity in our area!

A very special thank you to Scranton’s Mayor Cognetti for helping spearhead this fundraiser to help bring food to families across the Lackawanna County region as many families will be impacted when federal food assistance programs end support on Noviembre 1 amid the ongoing federal government shutdown.
