The Scranton Area Community Foundation is thrilled to announce that CFLeads has chosen us as one of only ten foundations nationwide to join the Economic Mobility Action Network’s advanced cohort, a network funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation!
The Economic Mobility Action Network is made up of twenty community foundations across the nation, chosen through a competitive process for their work to advance economic mobility in the region they serve, with a focus on equity. Our participation in this prestigious network allows us to collaborate with leading foundations across the country, including the Rochester Area Community Foundation, North Texas Community Foundation, and Foundation For The Carolinas.
Our team, including President and CEO Laura Ducceschi, Board Chair Ellen Burkey, and Director of Community Impact Vivian Williams, will work closely with key partners from the City of Scranton and the Institute for Public Policy to drive systemic change in our community.
“This incredible opportunity will provide the Scranton Area Community Foundation with a new national network, allowing us to develop additional relationships with peers who are pioneering innovative approaches to community challenges as well as with funding partners nationwide,” said Laura Ducceschi, Scranton Area Community Foundation President and CEO.
CFLeads’ mission is to help community foundations build strong communities by advancing effective practices, sharing knowledge, and galvanizing action on critical issues of our time.
In making their selections for the Economic Mobility Action Network, they considered the scope, geographic diversity, institutional alignment, and deep community engagement demonstrated by each foundation.
The goal of the cohort is to drive meaningful change and advance economic mobility in each foundation’s community. Beginning in September 2024, the Scranton Area Community Foundation will receive capacity-building support and innovative strategies to enhance our economic mobility plan.
We believe this initiative will significantly impact our community, and we’re grateful for your continued support, which makes our work possible. For more information about the Economic Mobility Action Network, please visit the CFLeads website.
Thank you for being a vital part of our mission!
