Established in October 2024, the Lift Up Thua River Children Fund was created by Samuel Kikandi and his wife Irene Nzasi to support causes close to their hearts. The Fund focuses on providing educational resources and opportunities for children and youth in underprivileged communities, including those in the Thua region of Kenya, Scranton, and other areas of interest in the U.S.
Two primary schools in Kenya, St. Elizabeth Mukusi Primary (Grades 1-6) and St. Joseph’s Inyuu Primary (Grades 1-9), are seeking support to improve their educational facilities. This includes purchasing laptops and making necessary upgrades to classrooms and infrastructure.
Donations to the Lift Up Thua River Children Fund through the Scranton Area Community Foundation will directly help improve these schools, providing students with a better learning environment and a brighter future.
