Training Opportunities for Nonprofits in Lackawanna County
Thanks to the generous support of the Scranton Area Community Foundation and the Moses Taylor Foundation, the Center for Community Leadership and Nonprofit Excellence is proud to offer a variety of training programs to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations serving Lackawanna County.
Important Details:
- Seats are Limited: Some of our training programs have a limited number of seats. To ensure that as many nonprofits as possible can benefit, there may be an application process for certain trainings.
- Individual Applications: Each person from a nonprofit organization who wishes to attend a training must submit their own application. Unfortunately, organizations cannot apply for multiple individuals under a single application.

Executive in Residence Consultant Grant Program
Gets hands-on assistance, expertise, and coaching from our Executive in Residence to help meet your organizational goals and build capacity.
Since 2019, the Executive in Residence Program has allowed nonprofit and other civic organizations in the region the opportunity to receive one-on-one support to increase their organizational capacity. The Executive in Residence Consultant Grant Program will provide a grant to nonprofit organizations in order to procure this one-on-one support in specific fields and disciplines. The executives may provide hands-on assistance, expertise, coaching and/or knowledge to help accomplish a particular organizational goal and to help build the organization’s capacity for the future.
Program Information
Nonprofit organizations approved for an Executive in Residence Consultant Grant will receive a capacity building grant between $500-$5,000 to work with an executive or consultant with the expertise that would best meet the organization’s needs. The organization will work with an Executive in Residence on our consultant list or one they secure. The grant amount will be calculated based on the number of requested hours (between 10 and 100 hours) multiplied by the $50/hour Executive in Residence rate. Please note: this grant opportunity can only support the consultant and their associated fees.
